2011 : WELCOMING inspiration: Yoga and Double Bass

    3:00pm

    Samadhi Yoga Studio

A debut of live double bass music by Ryan Ford and dynamically-welcoming yoga. Everyone should come to this practice! "Freeing the body leads inevitably to freeing the heart." ~Gabriel Roth ... This class will ignite your passion for yoga in 2011 and re-unite your infinite potential for strength, flexibility, poise and change. Together feel soothed and inspired to move, reflect, envision and manifest joyful balance. The balance of contrary yet complementary practices. You will deeply soften and open AND become deeply focused and strong for a new way of knowing yourself as the New Year begins. "Mental sunshine will cause the flower of peace, happiness and prosperity to grow upon the face of the earth. Be a creator of mental sunshine." ~anonymous, graffiti, L.A.

Are the eyes the windows to the soul? Peer into Alessio Bax’s gaze to intuitively feel why Gramophone states “his playing quivers with an almost hypnotic intensity”. Rachmaninoff’s towering achievement, his monumental Third Piano Concerto is so rich in melody and sumptuous harmony that it practically made Hollywood blush in the 1940’s (even as they continued to pilfer this veritable tune factory for material). Gabrieli’s music will be performed much as it was 400 years ago – antiphonally surrounding the audience - and makes the perfect bookend with Respighi’s radiant and rarely performed Church Windows.
